Dear AMD thread:
I want to thank all of you for your support these past few months and keeping that Intel rabble at bay. And let me tell you these past few months have not been easy ones for me either. Heck , there were days I when I had to turn off my office tv and cd player, roll up my sleeves and go down amd help those boys cut those Athlon chips out of those big wafers....how else do you think we got a million Athlons done in Q4?!!
And I want to take this opportunity to thank all the little people who made it possible.....all the employees of AMD who worked even when their paychecks bounced; the analysts who reduced their fees for good upgrades especially for AMD (you know AMD, rich in spirit, low on cash); the Register for their astute, intelligent, sensitive and timely reporting on the chip industry and particularly AMD; Craig Barrett for spending so much time on the Russian Steppes fly fishing (?)....yeah right! and I am an astronaut....and not watching Chipz, I mean Intel; my wife for being patient and for redecorating our Bel Air home in the best Hollywood tinsel, and last but not least, my limo driver who gets me where I want to go.
Well that's it folks....keep up the good work. Call Toni if you need AMD T-shirts for your softball team.
BTW did I tell you I am doing a movie pilot...yes, in Hollywood....for the little screen; its going to be called either The AMD Story: The life and times of an Athlon chip or Athlon, A chip off the old Block....and guess who gets to play the boss?...that's right, me.
Regards everyone,
