Rob, re #2, the return for investors for the last 12 mos has been a big fat 0. re #1, well, I believe they lost the moon, the sun, and the stars, in pursuing the coveted "scaleability" and "first mover status", whatever unproven value these things may have.
After all, we are only in the top of the 1st inning of this internet thing, are we not? If so, then AMZN has spent it's best plays, and injured its best players, in the top of the 1st. They will not recover in time, IMO.
