I lived and worked in Japan for more than 20 years and anyone who has worked or had to deal with the Japanese knows how slow they often are to respond or react to important issues. Which I think is what the Rambus is all about.

Also the Japanese do most deals based on trust a.k.a your word is all that is required. So when legal issues come up from the west, many meetings follow with few results.
