hi 2mars... this from the article on earnings surprises you posted... any thoughts on why nite was down today after such a good report... beat the street by 10 cents... revs up 118%... and stock falls 4 1/2%??

Knight/Trimark Group (NITE: news, msgs) reported fourth-quarter earnings of $58.4 million, or 50 cents a share, compared to $17.5 million, or 17 cents a share, in the fourth-quarter of 1999. Analysts expected a profit of 40 cents a share. Revenue of $256.4 million was 115 percent higher than the $119.3 million reported in the year-ago period. "We executed 470,000 trades per day on average, a 47 percent increase from the previous quarter and a 118 percent gain from the fourth quarter 1998," said Kenneth D. Pasternak, president and chief executive officer. Shares of the financial services company fell 1 11/16 to 37 5/16. See press release.

also wondering about smra... was up to 14 earlier today, but ended the day down at a low of 12 5/8... another one that has me totally baffled... so undervalued...

any thoughts you or anyone else care to share would be appreciated!!

kathy :)
