Gary - Re: "Do you think 2000 will be a profitable year for AMD ?"

I couldn't begin to guess.

Right now, It's BOOM TIMES in technology - and nearly every technology company is doing great.

AMD, however, has a long track of screwing up badly - all on their own.

As you noted, Intel's Coppermine is ramping rapidly - and INCREASING IN Speed - almost monthly. Intel's manufacturing capacity can be brought to bear on AMD - shoving AMD back in to the low priced commodity arena.

Buying Leap puts is a cheap way to bet some money on AMD's future missteps. However, if you don't like AMD's chances, any AMD missteps will ultimately benefit Intel. So I recommend that instead you bet on Intel's ultimate success - not on AMD's "possible" demise.

In the long run, an Intel investment has almost ALWAYS paid off handsomely.
