NW, thanks for your response. I agree, buying on margin has never been a favorite practice of mine. I usually buy with a one year (long term tax handling) attitude that, of course, I will vary from if the situation demands. I find that it is tough enough to do really well in investing when only subtracting commissions, and tax liability. When you start factoring in interest expense the picture gets cloudy for me.
I'd be lying however, if I said I had never used margin to increase my buying power because certainly I have...I just try to limit my use, so as not to get carried away.
I have my fingers, arms, and legs crossed...hoping we saw a bottom on ELBO today at fifteen. I guess we will know tomorrow.
