Actually, MW, you missed a chance to call me on another goof. As was pointed out to me on another thread, SRCM only gets half the shares from the deal, the other half going to Insight. So in fact SRCM only gets 100 million in LBRT stock... oops, after the announcement of the early release plus the secondary, make that 80 million.
Notable is how well Insight makes out from this. For buying $12 million of SRCM stock, plus giving $13 million capital to the JV, they are now the proud owners of $80 million of LBRT stock, gratis. Such a deal!
Whether that "preferred content provider" status will actually translate into a useful source income for the JV, meanwhile, remains to be seen. Let's just say the stuff that's currently on localsource.net ain't gonna cut it.

Though I will note that LBRT declined to make it part of the transaction, most likely because they already had their own guide. Which begs the question, what viable player in the digital cable field lacks such a guide at this stage of the game, anyway? |
