Tench, Re:"transmeta" Transmeta doesn't stand a chance IMHO. They have a PDF on performance in their web site - it shows how desperate they were to fill in the cracks on performance. As far as power being a major issue. I do see laptops taking larger market share. But its more for ergonomics and ease of space etc. Mine is plugged into the wall 90% of the time. The rest I use it for powerpoint presentations. I see the incremental market growth for laptops as these customers as desktop replacements. In that environment good performance and full software compatibiity is more important than 3 hr batter life vs 6 hrs. Just my .02. regards, Kash
