Jay,...I am just trying to calm the waters and not let "irrational exuberance" take control of our discussion and our psyche. We were getting into the 50% per month range of thinking and that turns out to be a rate that would lead to a 129 times increase in 12 months <G>. There are three major items that are already publicly planned that should impact the price of Softbank stock when it is clear that they are viable. The first is the establishment of Nasdaq Japan, the second is the establishment of a trading vehicle for Softbank that will permit direct trading on a US Exchange and the third is the establishment of a broadband low cost wireless internet service. Establishment of successful ventures in each of these fields ought to be good for a double in price even if one of them stumbles a little. Throughout the year Softbank will continue to invest in new companies and joint ventures and will be coming out and supporting a number of IPOs. Perhaps these latter moves will account for another double or perhaps more. That's my factor of four for the year 2000. This seems like a modest and conservative expectation for the Softbank Stock price. We would be talking about a company with a market cap of $400 billion yen at that point. I'll leave surpassing Microsoft to the year 2001 <G>. I sure hope that it will be a little easier to hedge our positions at those lofty levels.
