About 20 miles outside Reno NV is the famous "Gooseberry Mine" which about 8 years ago was run by Asarco. . . mine was then sold to Pallas Resources (.06 per share PALS).

The Gooseberry was big time operation. Asarco used ponds to dry out the cyanide laced leach mixture.

Basically, they use a bulldozer to hollow out a shallow pond and lined with black plastic.

The Gooseberry ponds were then surrounded with fence and barbwire. The entire mine is gated and fenced.

If I were GPGI shareholder, I would not be upset by the use of this method.

. . . all this to say that much larger companies than GPGI use the black ponds. . . =)

Cheers. George
