I think your right. But, growth funds started selling AOL last quarter. For instance, Janus 20 sold over half of it's portfolio of AOL, about 9.5 million shares.

Somebody here posted an article that quoted a rep from the Janus funds saying that move was a big mistake; doesn't look too dumb now. Institutional dumping by the the growth funds was a major concern to me prior to the merger (because growth was slowing anyway). But as a poster over on the ATHM thread explained to me, AOL stock is sufficiently liquid to prevent a free fall from this realignment.

The merger has time compressed the realignment.
