TSE 300 Index; Teklogix added

Inmet, Algoma Cut From TSE 300 Index; Sobeys, Bracknell Added

Toronto, Jan. 14 (Toronto) -- Algoma Steel Inc., SouthernEra
Resources Ltd., and Inmet Mining Corp. were among the stocks the Toronto Stock Exchange dropped from its TSE 300 Composite Index.

Among the stocks added to Canada's benchmark stock index were building contractor and facilities manager Bracknell Corp. grocer Sobeys Inc. and Husky Injection Molding Systems Ltd., which makes plastics manufacturing equipment.

The TSE 300 is a capitalization-weighted index of the country's largest companies. The changes will take effect Feb. 18.

Being added to, or deleted from, an index can affect a company's share price, as index funds buy and sell stocks to reflect the index's new composition.
