Interspeed Announces Distribution Agreement With Congruent International
Global Outsourcing Firm To Establish Interspeed Resellers In Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and South America; Will Help Expand Interspeed's International Sales Channel and Market Presence
NORTH ANDOVER, Mass., Jan. 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Interspeed, Inc. (Nasdaq: ISPD - news), a leading provider of integrated, high-speed Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) access solutions for service providers, today announced a distribution agreement with Congruent International, a leading provider of international outsourcing services to technology companies. Under terms of the agreement, Congruent will help expand Interspeed's indirect sales channel in more than 55 countries throughout Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America and South America. By establishing new resellers for Interspeed's innovative family of integrated DSL Access Routers, Congruent will help expand Interspeed's international sales channel and market presence.
According to Art Goodwin, senior vice president of world wide sales at Interspeed, ''The market for DSL is starting to pick up steam internationally and we are currently experiencing strong demand for our family of DSL Access Routers. Congruent's channel development expertise should allow Interspeed to quickly penetrate those markets where eager service providers want to deliver cost-effective, high-speed Internet access. In addition, Congruent will enable Interspeed to target those countries with a large concentration of MTU buildings, which are ideal for Interspeed's DSL solutions.''
Today's announcement is the third in a series of steps Interspeed is undertaking to create an indirect distribution channel targeting the world's leading service providers. In November, Interspeed announced a reseller agreement with Solunet, Inc., the nation's premier telecom Value Added Reseller (VAR). Earlier this year, Cabletron Systems, Inc., announced a world wide reseller agreement to market Interspeed's DSL solutions to Multi-Tenant Unit (MTU) operators.
''The founders of Congruent International provide Interspeed with over sixty years' proven international channel development experience,'' said Marvin Reynolds, vice president of Congruent International. ''Interspeed's integrated DSL Access Routers provide service providers with significant cost-savings and advanced functionality. With over 200 channel partners in 55 geographic markets, we will help extend the Interspeed brand to critical overseas markets, where demand for DSL often meets or exceeds U.S. demand.''
About Interspeed's Product Family
Interspeed offers a highly scalable family of DSL Access Routers -- the Interspeed 1000, Interspeed 500, and Interspeed DART. All three products include complete DSL aggregation, Layer 2 switching, IP Routing, and VPN functions in a single device, thus eliminating the need for service providers to purchase these components separately, and saving significant cost. The Interspeed DART is the industry's first complete, low-density DSL solution that enables service providers to deliver high-speed Internet access and other advanced IP applications to the MTU market. The Interspeed 500 is designed for larger MTU and Central Office environments, and the Interspeed 1000 is ideal for larger deployments in central office environments. The three products are managed with Speedview(TM), a powerful set of administration and management functions that make installation as simple as ''plug and play.''
