One Item From The Conference Call. I've yet to find time to type up my notes from the conference call, but one item really got my attention... In response to a question from the 9th caller (the analyst who is with Tucker-Anthony), they said they have some "next generation" products under development that will be introduced as follows: 9-12 months: P-P radio with twice OC-3 capacity. 12-18 months: P-P radio with four times OC-3 capacity. 18-24 months: P-MP radio with four times OC-3 capacity. Their current "Altium" radio offers OC-3 (155 Mbps) capacity and these new 'ultra-high capacity' (622 Mbps) radios will (I think) be based upon their recently announced "Velocity" chipset. In addition to this ultra-high capacity P-MP radio coming out in 18-24 months, DMIC hopes that the lower-capacity P-MP radio from Ensemble Communications will work out well so they can do some sort of partnering arrangement with them. Altogether, this will give them an extremely broad product line... they'll always have the right product to meet each customer's particular requirements. Thus, we're not just looking at one round of products that will be a big hit and then fade from glory... but they keep building a portfolio of products, together with a reputation for having reliable and available products, so the customers will keep coming back to them again and again. This will give them a huge share of the exploding market for wireless equipment and that will translate into strong and steady bottom-line growth... that will earn them a very high PE on strong EPS which will mean a high share price and market valuation... in turn, this will make it possible for them to use their stock as a currency with which to acquire weaker companies.
