Wolff, <Isn't the risk of shrinking margins and greater supply of Athlon chips as well as new exposure to lossing the laptop market of any concern?>

Yes it is. But when has it ever been "smooth sailing" for Intel's microprocessor business? Two years ago, it was the sub-$1000 market, and look how Intel came back from that miss. Athlon? Are you discounting the possibility of a MUCH greater supply of Coppermine chips, Gateway's supply problems notwithstanding? Crusoe? While Transmeta might succeed in a niche, do you think that's a serious contender to Intel's market share?

You say you were "wrong on the timing." I think you're just plain wrong on your base assumptions about Intel. But then again, my opinion doesn't really count, since I'm just a corporate grunt, right?
