David,

You are confused. I want public confirmation from IDX that they are shipping the dfr300 and so does every other shareholder. You are willing to give them the benefit of the doubt with their statement of "shipping in quantity," and I am not. You are right...they do release things after-the-fact...so if the shipments were to begin in December...why haven't they announced anything about the dfr300? I too think there has been a "minor production delay" and that worries me. WhoVision was screaming a while back that its product will be $10 in quantity and it EXPECTED to be shipping years ago...and as we all know...that did not happen. I bring this up only to point out that expectation does not equal reality all the time. Yes, I am a doubting Thomas here...sorry. I remeber your disbelief that Secugen had a scanner that was less than $100...as I recall...so try not to be too hard on me.

I was in a rush when I wrote my last post...and forgot to take into account CPQ profit on the product. Nevertheless if the hardware drops from 35 to 20...that means that profit margins on the app/algo(if applicable) and CPQ markup will have to drop...if not on all three...then at least on one...to allow the 60 price you envision. (by the way...post the link to the published report that shows CPQ expecting this to be $60) I guess that leaves the question of profit for the company...which will be lessened unless sales increase enough to offset the revenue decline. That having been said...any idea as to sales projections...or anything like that? Secondly, any advancement on CPQ's part to put this scanner in standard on any computers (I think something about a laptop coming standard with this??) Anyway...I checked CPQ's website...and I can not order the DFR300...yet...which only adds to my doubt of the shipping status.

As for the ESAF/Secugen thing...you think the "retail" price for this solution is $200? It is not, David. I have heard from unconfirmed reports that $100 total per seat for a complete solution in higher quantities....and of course...ESAF adjusts pricing to find their own "sweet spot." I am willing to conceed that Secugen...at least from what I know...can not compete with the DFR300 currently on price. Whether ESAF can use the DFR300 remains to be seen...but apparently ESAF can use the bioengine...so it makes sense that it could. Whether IDX tries to "price out" ESAF remains to be seen. If they really wanted to stop ESAF from benefiting from their scanners why allow them to use bioengine? Nevertheless...I am sure...or at least I think...that IDX will do something to slate the playing field so that a biologon solution is cheaper than a saf2000 solution assuming both are using DFR300 stuff.

Regards,
Bob
