I know you're gonna find this difficult to believe, but I've never seen that little chart Siebel devised portraying ACT! exclusively as contact management. Gotta love PR! Where we agree that ACT! hasn't tried to sell the enterprise-wide software that Siebel sells, that was the essence of my point regardless of crudely I stated it.

Your interest in SalesLogix and others reminds me that a year or so ago Moore wrote that the mid-tier front office software market will be of sufficient size and different enough from the top-tier market that it merits thinking of it as a completely separate Gorilla Game. He expanded on that when he updated the CRM case study in the RFM.

To take that one step further, anyone interested in investing in the front office software market at any level would do well to occasionally read the "Lessons Learned" found on pages 179-180 in the revised manual.
