Tony,

"Dumb old buy and hold type" is also my plan for my long term investments. I LOVED AMAT, thought it was a no brainer for at least two years.

When they went out and paid 1770 times earnings for a company that was declining in revenue, my "old economy" logic kicked in, and I sold.

Obviously a short term mistake.

It's sometimes a hard market for folks like me that believe that real serious companies are managed by smart people that make good financial decisions. When I see what certainly appears to me to be an error in judgement, to say the least, I have to bail. The current valuation models may cost me some money in the short term, but my instincts have served me well in the past, so I will live with the downsides.

I SINCERELY wish you the best with your AMAT, I hope it goes to 300.

John
