Lucent bought an Austin-based startup named Agere (Pronounced Ah-GE-ra) for $415M. Agere was privately held. This should raise interest in companies like Si-Tera, C-Port (both privately held) and MMC.

The network processor market is getting hot. Based on a very limited analysis, C-Port has the best part out now. It's expensive and power-hungry but has the most horsepower and widest coverage of solutions. Intel's part covers the lower end pretty well. Maybe Intel will buy C-Port and own this market as they do x86.

Looking for another entry into MMCN at <30.
