You sound like me and my latest bad pet project AKLM,

I intended to start real small, then if took off before I could go with it I'd dish it off to my kids account, just the right size. If it isn't good I will work it or sell at reasonable loss.

50% later I have SOME work to do!. But you know what at 3.5 it can be worked.
A half point at a time I will be alright, but it still stinks.
