Motorola entered into a pioneering licensing agreement with Qualcomm in 1990. Pioneering licensing agreement typically carries preferential royalty terms yet QCOM's relationship with Motorola is plagued with lawsuits. See the pattern? If you are talking about the jealousy demonstrated by companies lacking important CDMA IPR then I see what you are talking about.
