OT on Microsoft

saw a latenight Bloomberg interview of a fellow whose name was not prominently displayed

he interprets Bill Gates move to VP of Software Development as heralding a formal government-led split of Microsoft

he also views the Gates move as surrender in the ongoing battle with the Justice Department

reminds me with emphasis that three factors curse a stock
- product failure
- death or loss of CEO or other critical VP
- protracted lawsuits

it appears the Software World's equivalent of the Soviet Union may soon witness a similar fate

he favored AOL/Time Warner over Microsoft as current holding
