<Tuesday I believe is gold auction day, will be interesting to see if gold can join the commodity party.>

Tuesday is the 4th BOE Auction. The XAU is sending very ominous signals. It is telegraphing a substantial drop in the POG. It has not responded to the rise in the CRB Index, which in itself is quite ominous.

I think the XAU can easily make new lows below the 48 level before it rallies very strongly. The dollar is quite strong and so is growth. Those factors are killing the XAU. If we add rising short term interest rates, the short term outlook for the gold mining stocks is quite bleak.
The XAU desperately needs this bubble to burst. Otherwise it is in serious trouble.
