I recall that the CYRIX 486 did indeed have only a 1 K cache - and
NO FPU - which made it effectively a 386 with a small cache.


Cyrix started as a math co-processor company. Their initial FPU
implementation was better than Intel's, so it seems unlikely that
they did not use it on their 486 designs.

The ST web page which I pointed to shows all
Cyrix 486's with 8K L1 and an FPU.
