Under the company's agreement with HitchHiker Software GmbH of Frankfurt,
Germany, new European clients will be in a position to use Solars's system as of
April 1, 2000. HitchHiker anticipates that 10 of its existing client base will be part of
the initial launch. These contracts are projected to increase Solars's existing monthly
revenues by 35 per cent.
Thomas Boffo, managing director of HitchHiker, said, "There is strong interest and
an immediate need for Solarnet's searchable database product from our European
air consolidator clients."
Frank Wells, chairman of Solars, said: "This reaffirms that the air consolidator
segment of the travel industry will continue to represent a primary sales focus for
Solars this year. At the same time, we are pleased to report that the level of travel
agents using our system and their related activity has increased by 326 per cent and
437 per cent, respectively, from the same period a year ago."
HitchHiker is a European travel software company, with a proven track record for
providing inventory and management automation solutions to the air consolidator
market.
