Kaiser says hold Pacific Rim, but prepare to sell
Pacific Rim Mining Corp PFG Shares issued 21,615,370 2000-01-17 close $3.25 Tuesday Jan 18 2000 John Kaiser, writing in the Jan. 3-7 issue of his Bottom-Fish Action Review, says Pacific Rim Mining is a hold at $2.30. Mr. Kaiser recommended the stock in December, 1998, at 80 cents. Earlier buy tips were December, 1997, at $1.09, and in October, 1998, at 65 cents. In the current report, Mr. Kaiser says drilling at the Luicho gold project in Peru is expected in April. This will probably mean a big promotional buildup along the lines of Arequipa's Pierina deposit in 1996 after the company released its pitting results, he says. Mr. Kaiser cautions, however, that Pierina had high-grade results right at surface and was a high-sulphidation system that had undergone unusual gold-silver enrichment. The letter writer says a better comparison is with Argentina Gold's Veladero gold distribution system in Argentina. He adds that bottom fishers should prepare themselves for a partial sell before drilling starts in April. Fellow letter writer Bob Bishop has also taken note of Luicho, Mr. Kaiser notes.
