Needles in haystacks ... With Windows's thousand files, whatever they do is a mystery to most users. I don't know. One would imagine SETUP would differ considerably, but the support files would remain mostly similar. The key is 'mostly' and the differences would be hard to locate. Anyway, I still believe the best upgrade would be to load the new OS onto an empty machine. The possibility of a 'left-over' getting stuck in the gears somewhere would be less. As for using the upgrade package instead of the 'initial' package: Save your money; it only takes a second or two to insert the original disk for verification. (Locating it is another story!)
