You are being obtuse, and indulging in sophistry.

Japan doesn't have GSM. It doesn't have TDMA either, if you are talking about IS-136. It doesn't have CDMAone, if you are talking about IS-95.

It does have large established TDMA based Networks (PHS and PCS)
It is rolling out CDMA (J-STD008).

Japan is clearly going to go it's own way - far enough, that is, to give it's indigenous industry the edge over foreign competition.

I also agree with you (I think) that GSM will NOT be deployed in Japan, for the aforementioned reasons
