With many years in technology and software, NEVER is something one time. And the more complex something is, the MORE difficult it becomes to get it done near the scheduled date.

There's a whole group of Murphy's Laws and corollaries for software development. They apply in spades to any level of sophisticated web site development. Key to it all is the humans behind it, and how many hours of sleep they're running on (and how much Coca-Cola and Twinkies).
