MG Natural Resources Receives Approval of Second Gold and Platinum Group Metals Patent
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 21, 2000--MG Natural Resources Corp. (OTC BB:MGAUE - news) Friday announced that it has received notice from the U.S. Patent Office in the form of a ``Notice of Allowance' that its second patent application has been approved.
MG reported on the approval of its first patent in a press release dated Dec. 22, 1999. The first patent was for a ``treated ore' that was made from refractory (difficult to assay and extract) ore containing gold and platinum group metals.
The treated ore is no longer refractory and responds well to traditional assay and extraction techniques. The first patent was broadly based since it provided the company with protection for the treated ore containing gold and platinum group metals itself, regardless of the method of producing the treated ore.
The second patent is somewhat narrower in scope since it is for a specific method of producing the treated ore covered in the first patent.
MG, through the work of its Chief Technical Director Alvin C. Johnson, Ph.D., and his research and development team continue to develop improvements and extensions to the technology contained in the two patents. Through their work, MG has created additional new precious metals technological inventions that the company believes are important and for which additional patent protections may be sought.
Forward looking statements in this release are made pursuant to the ``Safe Harbor' provisions of the Private Securities Litigation Act of 1995.
Investors are cautioned that such forward-looking statements involve risks and uncertainties, including without limitation, commodity prices of precious metals, increased levels of competition for the company, perfection of extraction technology, the company's dependency upon third-party suppliers, intellectual property rights and other risks detailed from time to time in the company's periodic reports.
The company assumes no obligation to update the information in this release.
