Demanding (or requesting) verifiable facts and sources is the appropriate response to a type II poster according to the protocol we've developed here at this thread. Newbies may or may not need to be shown the way, but personally I feel a sense of moral obligation to do as you suggested...highlight potentially dangerous posts when they are recognized, and demand (or request) sources.

It is interesting to me that the press doesn't necessarily have to reveal their sources of information to the public. But it does add credibility if sources are made available.

In addition, if we do nothing but at least ask for sources, facts and/or data from type II posters, that in itself calls attention to the questionable nature of a type II post, and might help someone see another side to the issue at hand.
