Actually, between NT server and workstation, there is not much of a difference. I would say maybe 1% of code difference. MSFT has to throw in Domain Management, IIS, and what not to justify the cost of server. I think it would be the same for LINUX. All I want to say is that to compete with MSFT, LINUX camp must act fast. The reason is that MSFT may likely put the source code of its OS on the public domain (all the version of OSs has to be compiled from code posted on that domain, of course, all the $ generated from the sales still goes MSFT). MSFT has close to zero installation base on 64-bit environment, but we all know that's going to change in, say, 12 months, and corporate world will embrace the Win2K on 64-bit warmly no doubt. By saying LINUX has to act fast doesn't mean technology wise but strategically. I think RedHat should use it inflated stock price to do major acquisition. Corel should be a key target. How about $4 billion dollar in stock for swallowing up CORL? Would that work? Let me, an very old MSFT shareholder, say that once again, if MSFT releases its source code (OS only) to the public domain, it will change the view of a lot of today's diehard LINUX fan, don't even mention the corporate customers or even those countries worry the USA dominating power. CORL should still have some room on the upside.

Have a nice weekend everybody
