IMO, part of the commodity rise is simply a bounce from a seriously oversold position going back to the various financial crises in 1998.

And as you say, ..."BTW, it won't affect the semi-market, IMHO, so we don't need to worry..

Commodities tend to primarily affect the old economy not the information age based high tech companies that most on this thread relate to.

And I strongly suspect that there are too many talking heads who have allowed themselves to be baffled by their own "many years of experience".

Will the Fed raise rates more than they have to or should? Probably. Inflation at under 2% is at a 35 year low. this is not indicative of an impending emergency, IMO.
