I have been watching T for some time, recognizing that the general public thinks that T has seen its day, and will just continue to lose market share. I have also heard that it pays gazillions of consultants tons of money, and that the bottom line will improve as they begin to get rid of them. OK.

Now we are approaching a PE of 8.5 in a market where the norm is about 25-30, depending on sector. I am getting ready to buy, but I'm nervous because I just don't get why it continues to drop.

What's book value? What if someone bought it just to break it up? Where's the bottom?
