additiona; info. on Viacom. Purchase of additional 5% of Spelling is to permit Via to take advantage of their tax loss. Meanwhile, it appears that Redstone is liquidating other assets he has to raise cash so he can buy Via stock if necessary. He is hocked to the teeth, and a break below 20 on the stock could bring in massive margin calls. He has made too many enemies in the business and financial community and there are few people who are ready or willing to help him. Blockbuster is a dud, Paramount is a dud, his best assets have been sold, and the banks really own him. They are protected, so I doubt that they will feel that they have to bail him out like they did Trump.
