Philip, it doesn't really concern me where MM gets back in. I write a lot of options on my long positions so it's very helpful to have a sense of where the market is going. It is true that I sold a few things that I couldn't get back into at lower prices, but on balance I did very well. As to commissions I usually pay $5 for a market order and $10 for a limit order. Hardly a consideration. As to taxes, well that's why I like to write options.
