< The divergence today between bullion and gold stocks was unprecedented >

The fact that the XAU could not close above 88 signifies a key short term bearish reversal.

However, if the XAU can hold at 77, then we can expect another leg up.

PS I took some profits today.

I know that its difficult for you to remember Bobby, given that you constantly talk from both sides of your mouth and change your market view 3 or 4 times a day. But I took half my profits at the top on the day that the POG went up $26 while the XAU fell! I'm playing with house money in the gold market these days -ggg-

I also predicted a nice rally in the POG on the very day of the dreaded second BOE Auction:

BoE sells 25 tonnes of gold at 255.75 usd per ounce

nasdaq.co.uk

PS This much dreaded auction appears to have come off as a non-event. When expectations are for the worst and it never materializes, watch out above. POG now up over $2.

You informed us all right before the third BOE Auction that "Gold" was about "to go Ballistic." I expressed some caution at the time.

<Oil and Gold are about to go ballistic>

You may be right. But that will depend on how the BOE auction goes this coming Monday. If this auction can get as oversubscribed as the last one with a few producers stepping up to the plate to buy, watch out above: $375-$400 is easily doable. We may even challenge the 93 high of $422.

This is the last auction before the Millenium and the much talked about Y2K bug. It's time for Gold ( and the producers) to put up or shut up. Watch out below if the results of the Auction are disappointing: $270-$275 is possible.

The reward sure outweighs the risk here. BWDIK

We came down after the disappointing auction to $277-$278.

I want to know where you think the POG is going after this auction Booby? Now try to form an opinion or view that you can hold for more than an hour here.

I'm on record that I think the result of this auction will be a Big Non-Event. You bet I'm bearish on Gold and the Gold Mining Stocks over the next 6 weeks to 2 months. I don't fight the XAU, the strong dollar and growth. Only an ideologically committed fool would do so.
