NGEN has mentioned drug screening applications, but has kept mum about throughput rates per dollar spent. It would be interesting to see how they stack up against AFFX and ABSC (ABSC's expensive state-of-the-art system is currently a factor of ten faster than anyone else' I've heard of, at roughly 100,000 screens per 12 hour period), when they get around to addressing this application. NGEN could well use their chip as the basis of a system to compete in screening, but it's too soon for us outsiders to say.
