Call it what you want, but I maintain that if Intel were any other big tech company, you wouldn't have heard one tenth of what you did. Intel draws controversy and muckraking like no-one else. Case in point, did you see this one about Cisco? Bet you 10 to 1 it gets next to no publicity.

Intel is a tough stock to own in terms of daily FUD affecting it. Even a company with no customers and questionable product (Transmeta) can hit the stock with a press conference. OTOH, there are ALWAYS companies, from here to Japan, coming out with "Cisco killer" routers that get just minute attention. CSCO keeps climbing :-) like nothing else was happening.
