1) San Diego (or was it Kellen Winslow all by himself) at Miami, December 1981?
I have the most incredible story relating to this game, I just had to share it:
I lived in San Diego in 1981, in my early twenties living with a roommate. Of course, living in San Diego, we were all very excited about the game. The Saturday night before the game, I awoke suddenly from a dream, wide awake.
In the dream, I was in Miami, before the game and Kellen Winslow came up to me and said very clearly and with conviction, "Mark, we are going to win today and will be up 21 to 0 in the first quarter. God bless you."
The dream was so vivid, I shot out of bed, woke up my roommate and told him to not ask any questions and get dressed--we were driving to Las Vegas to bet on the game. When I told him why, I guess I must have looked so sure of myself he didn't even question it.
I don't remember how we came up with the cash, but we somehow put together $1,000 for a bet (I think some was credit cards) by the time we got to Vegas. That was alot of money to us back then.
As you all know it was one of the most exciting games in history. We won the bet, but the most amazing thing was that the first quarter was, I think 20-0 Chargers, and Kellen Winslow was the hero of the game.
Too weird.
I've had other such dreams and feelings--I wish I understood how this works. |
