milo - <PB it is Accurate <AMD is perfecting Copper NOW [2Q, 2000], whereas INTC will have to attempt copper later. I'd say your trying to spin my words, as AMD will be a full year ahead of INTC in using copper.>

No, it is a professional opinion. I am not trying to spin your words. I am articulating Intel's position on Cu, which it has been publicly doing for two years. As a business decision, I firmly believe it would have been a huge mistake for Intel to implement Cu on .18.

Intel's Al process has demonstrated that it is more than capable, and is quite highly regarded in Process Tech circles, for both the performance it achieves, and the sizeable cost advantage on .18 over Copper due to immature Cu equipment status.

If you think it is to AMD's advantage to implement Cu now, fine. Maybe it is better for AMD. Certainly not for Intel, for a multitude of reasons.

As far as Intel is concerned, it would not have been to its advantage to do so, and Intel feels that .13 is the sweet spot to implement a Cu process. I utterly concur. Intel will have a .13 Cu process in production before AMD will.
