Steve, cbot's friday report

cbot.com

Debt futures finished marginally mixed. The 30-Year Bond finished slightly higher. Underpinning the future today was encouragement that the Fed will combat inflation. Additional support came from thoughts the government is going to buy back some of its long-term debt. The story was not the same for the 10-Year Note future. It finished slightly lower pressured by concerns over corporate supply. However an afternoon push to the upside enabled most credit futures to erase their previous day's losses as they finished slightly to the upside. Many traders said they will be focusing on two reports next week. Those economic releases will be Thursday's fourth quarter employment cost index and Friday's preliminary fourth quarter GDP figures.
