That's an amazing endorsement!

CrossKeys Has Newbridge, Scores with Nortel and Alcatel, Targets All NEVs

On July 20, Nortel announced it would leverage CrossKeys? inControl initiative?built on the ISV?s CrossControl product?to provide new multivendor, multi-technology integration capability for Nortel?s INM platform. INM will continue to provide current functionality, but will now be able to capably do so across multiple vendors and technology domains. The first fruits of the Nortel-CrossKeys alliance, which are to be productized under the name INMControl, are slated for FY1999 beta release.

On August 9, Bell Atlantic approved the deployment of Alcatel?s DEXCS1VL narrowband digital cross-connect system in its network, letting the ILEC offer features such as enterprise and network reconfiguration services (NRS). Alcatel leverages CrossKeys? CrossControl product in DEXCS1VL, providing a software bridge to connect different vendors and technologies in a multivendor network and letting Bell Atlantic remotely control the DEXCS1VL.

Newbridge affiliate CrossKeys has had inControl-style systems, i.e., those built on CrossControl, deployed for up to four years via the Newbridge?s MainStreet-Xpress 46020 at SBC, Bell Canada, and elsewhere managing Lucent, Alcatel, Siemens, Nortel, DSC, and Tadiran equipment. Having Newbridge already in its camp and having added Nortel and Alcatel, CrossKeys is setting its sights on every major NEV. . . .

Despite these challenges, we still think CrossKeys and Vertel, and perhaps a few interconnection vendors such as Quintessent and Evolving Systems, will collectively provide these solutions for all of the major NEVs.

Thanks for posting.
