Kevin- The tech that set me up said that the thing that they spend the most time on is installing a NIC on everybody's screwed up computer. The set top boxes will speed things up considerably primarily because there is no computer. More new computers being sold with NICs already installed in them, as mine was, and this will also speed things up. With the rollout of DSL and cable I think we are going to see the retail channels full of computers preconfigured for high speed access. Frankly, I hate letting any kind of tech pop the cover on a computer of mine (I've stopped them from doing really stupid things before), so I made sure they didn't have to. The installation requires very little expertise on the part of the tech. The guy setting me up said a year ago he'd never touched a computer. He did nothing that I could not have done myself.
