Earlie, Unfortunately, I have no hard proof. I just remember that they did something similar last quarter and the analysts were shocked. This time, I think it is old hat. I got my tipoff from Bill F's Thursday Rap and made an extrapolation on my own part that, since I couldn't find what happened to those cap gains anywhere else, that must be what they did again. Unfortunately, I think we will have to wait for the 10Q before this flim-flam is either proved or disproved, at least for journalistic purposes. However, you might want to check with Bill.

I have said it before and will say it again: when companies like Intel and Microsoft, even, play games with capital gains and mergers, it is very obvious what they are doing. But old Lou takes the entire 3 months to dream up new tricks that we just can't decipher in a few days. <g>
