Speaking hypothetically of course, why don't the auto makers own the dealerships and just use them for test driving and warranty service? Keep minimal inventory and square footage ... I believe this makes sense along with a service center. To me that is an indicator of just how value subtracted the dealership is. I am not clear on what you mean here. Are you saying the dealers provide a lot of value and are not appreciated or just the opposite?
