<<....Investors led by Amazon.com are pumping $100 million of venture capital into Kozmo.com, a fast-growing, closely
held company that delivers movies, snacks and other items purchased over the Internet. >>

This is really pitiful. If I hire some teenagers part time and I open a house-cleaning and snow shoveling service, can I call it an e-commerce co just because people order it up on the internet? Maybe I could get $ 100 million in venture capital too!

Why, we could even cut their grass for them. Do you think we could get another $50 mill in vc for that? After all, we would need more powerful servers , and lawn mowers, of course! (but we wouldn't need little bicycles like Kozmo)

Re pet stores, that is one of the most crowded spaces right now on the the retail internet front. I've got to bei;ieve that the b&m pet sttores will always matin their web stites, no matter waht, just to maintain another level of exposure to their customers- they don't really need to make much $$ from it. But many of the pure internet pet stores will be gone soon imo. Maybe that will help pets.com & AMZN.
