James, there are many places, all over the U.S. that have Indian names, and people do not even recognize them as such. But, Oklahoma has the most, because of the forced relocation of so many tribes to "Indian Territory". As it was with many of the European diseases, the Native Americans had no immunity to, even, the simplest maladies. Over centuries, whites had built up a tolerance for alcohol but, the Indians did not stand a chance against it. It did not take some of the Whites long to realize that they could maintain some kind of control over the tribes if they could keep the braves drunk. Another example of, less than Kosher, behavior.

Have you been told the meaning of the word Tahlequah, yet. It is an interesting story.
