Unfortunately, the sessions ran late so Brad Davis' Ancor presentation was crunched up against lunch and ran like an abbreviated vacation slide show.

Their stated Product Strategy -

1. IB switch in the market by 2001
2. OEM primary customer focus

3. Continue FC product excellence in IB products
> High reliability
> High performance/scalability
> Easiest to Use (switch management)
> Low cost
> Focus on interoperability and open systems

4. Continue high level of Customer Support in IB
> Multi-vendor interoperability
> 7x24x365 2nd level support

Ancor has been hiring 10 engineers per month for the last six months, according to Brad, so there's a good chance their stated goals can be achieved. I guess that's why the 8-k was filed. And who says Ancor isn't invested in interoperability?

The IB switch was represented on the roadmap slide as a chip that connected the CPU to peripherals and to an external switch box connecting multiple CPUs, Storage, and Networks. Looks good to me. Those slides should show up on ancor.com, if marketing has got their heads screwed on right.

The Ancor exhibit booth lacked the celebrated Director this time. I couldn't get hardly a word out of them aside from the usual marketing blather. They kept looking at my badge warily, like they had been warned, so something must be up. Maybe it was just paranoiia, but I didn't receive those vibes from anyone else when they saw PRESS, just the opposite in fact.
