James, Having lived around there for a while, I had to learn the spelling of the locations to survive.

When the Cherokee were informed of the forced march, The Trail of Tears, to Oklahoma, the council elected 3 leaders to be in charge of maintaining order on the trip, and to select a place to settle when they got there. I am sure you know that they lost one-third their population on that terrible journey, and when they got to Oklahoma, one of those lost, was one of the leaders. As the two remaining ones stood on the bluff, looking down on the small valley where the town is today, one leader turned to the other and said; "Tahlequah", in English; "two is enough".
